HOME SWEET HOME:
When staying at the Lodge, please keep nature in mind at all times and dispose of things, and treat things accordingly. Please don’t feed local wildlife, don’t leave garbage or cigarette butts on the property, and don’t hurt the trees + plants inside or outside. Also, the indoor plants are well cared for, and will not need to be watered unless you are there for a long stay, in which case we will send you instructions for watering.

PARKING:
Feel free to park your vehicles anywhere that’s paved or has gravel, we’d like to keep cars off the grass to help it grow!

AMMENITIES:
Everything is available for you to use! From the BBQ and fully equipped kitchen, records + record player, and Bose Sound link, to a gorgeous high efficiency hot tub with Bluetooth speaker, rock top fire pit, Netflix, board games, and eleven acres of land to play on!

The bathroom is equipped with a hairdryer, mini straightener, shampoo + conditioner, soap + lotion, as well as hand + body towels which you can toss into the laundry basket in the bathroom at the end of your stay. We also have a little drawer with sunscreen, bug spray, bandaids, polysporin + after bite, and a small set of tweezers/scissors/nail clippers which you are free to use.

All bedrooms have pillows, sheets, comforters, and extra blankets which you can toss on the beds when you go. Please read all the books - but leave them at the lodge, so you can enjoy them on your next stay! If you’re unsure if how to use anything, message me anytime! There's one locked door next to the bathroom that is our utility + storage room. Please do not try to open it - that’s where all the non kid-friendly stuff is hiding.

SEASONAL TEMP CONTROL:
WINTER: There's some wood provided (if you're a fireplace junkie like me, you'll want to bring some wood of your own) and all the tools you'll need to keep the fire healthy throughout your stay. Use the on/off switch for the blower (near the locked utility room) to move a chamber of warm air around the house - it'll auto-on once the fire is toasty. If you're not up on your fire building skills - don't fret, we have baseboard heaters on a thermostat in the main area that will keep the place toasty, and individual adjustable baseboard heaters in the bedrooms.

SUMMER: To keep the place feeling cool and fresh all the time keep all the fans running day + night, and leave them on when you leave. In addition, crack open up a few windows at night to let that cool Muskoka air in, and close them when you wake up to trap it in for the day!

FOOD/GARBAGE:
The cabinets on each end of the island (by the fridge and by the living area) are empty for you to store your dry goods (snacks, bread, etc) and the fridge has lots of open space. Feel free to use any condiments and spices you find in the house, but leave the one drawer of emergency food intact (unless there's an emergency!)

There is a large garbage bin in the rolling drawer cabinet next to the stove, under the sink we have a small recycling container for plastic and glass; all paper/cardboard can be burned in the fireplace. Just outside the door are larger bins for garbage, or washed recycling and empties. Upon checkout, transfer the garbage to the bear-bin at the end of the driveway (one bag of each permitted, no cardboard/paper). Remember to keep food sealed when not in-use to deter pests from creeping inside, and never leave food outside, or you may attract larger wildlife to the property!

NOISE:
Our closest neighbours are a few acres away, so you probably won’t notice much noise from them. If you’re up late playing music by the fire, be mindful of your surroundings and try to keep the noise at a reasonable level, as sound can travel farther than you think. The hot tub speakers, on the other hand, are yours to blast - they don’t get very loud anyway.

HOT TUB:
The hot tub is a fun place to hang out, but glass drinks are a hazard! Please drink from cans or juice boxes or use the cute plastic cups with paddles on them, also no smoking and no food at all in the tub!
To use the Bluetooth speaker, make your phone discoverable and turn on the Bluetooth button on the left side of the tub stairs, the code is 6000.

SUMMER SWIMMING:
West down Moon River Road there’s a little water access area. It takes about ten minutes to walk there, or it’s a quick drive. This is a shared, neighbourhood area so be mindful and respectful to the homes and people nearby (text me for a map!). There are also a few beaches in nearby towns that are beautiful and family friendly!

DECK:
DROP AT YOUR OWN RISK! The deck has slats of wood with holes between and underneath is the deep dark depths of hell from whence none shall return. DO NOT drop anything that is of value to you, because it might be gone forever.

SMOKERS’ CORNER:
There is a beautiful mid-century modern pottery ashtray provided to you under the sink in the kitchen. If the ashtray gets full outside, please bag the ashes in a plastic bag (once all the tiny fires are out) and dispose of them in the garbage bin outside.

PETS:
Unfortunately we are not yet set up to accommodate your fur babies :(  (Ask me directly for service animal exceptions)

SECURITY:
You are responsible for all of your personal items while you stay, as well as the safety of our home. Please lock the doors when you leave the property, and ensure the windows and doors are locked when you check out. In addition, please remember to turn the lights off when you leave, and in the winter please turn the heat down to 20*

DAMAGES:
In the event that you break something, please don’t be afraid of telling us immediately. These are not our grandmothers dishes, so we won't be angry, but we would appreciate the heads-up so that we can replace broken items for the next guests!

FORGOTTEN ITEMS:
Please let us know if you left anything behind, and we would be happy to assist you in returning the item.
